Amazing!
Joe Lieberman’s campaign manager has
accused Ned Lamont supporters of hacking Joe’s website. However, some
evidence suggests that they just didn’t pay their bill!
Why do I keep thinking of the story of Karl Rove
bugging his own office and blaming it on a political opponent?
[
Update] TPM has more
info on the allegations from the Lieberman camp. Looks like a set up for Joe to rationalize an independent run
while still insisting he's a Democrat![
Update II] As is often the case, Hunter at Dkos
nails it with his take on the latest (and hopefully last) Lieberman stunt.
So would you agree that if in fact this was the result of a hacker it would be a dirty trick for which Lamont should apologize? Because if not, Lieberman accusing Lamont supporters of doing this wouldn't matter.
ReplyDeleteMost of what I've been picking-up today implies that Lieberman's website was set-up on the cheap, and as a result couldn't process the amount of traffic it received immediately prior to election day. Lamont's website offered a conditional apology (i.e. if one of his people did it, he's sorry), a statement that he opposes such dirty tricks, and an offer of technical assistance to fix the problem. I suspect that my sources present a somewhat biased point of view, but the end impression is that Lieberman's people are incompetent whiners (and/or utterly devious, in the worst Karl Rove-ian sense), and Lamont's are fair-minded and state-of-the-art.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - If in fact this was the result of a hacker, Lamont should express regret - which I understand he already has done (along with offering assistance in getting the site back up!)
ReplyDeleteI don't see why he should apologize.
And I don't see how a website so poorly protected, and so slow to be restored, could be so integral to Lieberman's campaign - unless allowing it to be hacked was the point!
What's next - Joe will say the Lamont Campaign hacked Joes brain and made him vote for the war then kiss George?
